Call for Abstracts
The Call for Abstracts is now closed. Selected abstracts will receive notification by June 3.
The objective of the DMSMS & Standardization Conference 2011 is to focus on the need for DMSMS and standardization policies, procedures, guidance, and automated tools to support the Warfighter, and includes activities required to attain this goal such as Value Engineering, Total Life Cycle Management, Parts Management, and includes mitigating the Counterfeiting Epidemic on Parts, Material, and Materiel. To meet this objective our approach to manage the ever-present obsolescence problem must continue to be examined and evolve.
Product Support Management for the foreseeable future will require current force support, reset of today's major systems, and development of the future force. The defense drawdown will significantly affect the future force planning for the next 10 years, and the US deficit situation will force fiscal caution. This situation requires technical initiatives throughout the Total Life Cycle, preparing for constant changes in industrial base capabilities.
As the military seeks a quicker, agile and more lethal Warfighting capability within affordability constraints, we must also implement business practices that respond to non-availability issues rapidly and efficiently. Utilization of tools, based upon modern information technology, to anticipate problems and enable solutions becomes a requirement to support the Warfighter. This conference will present an opportunity to hear the views of military and industrial leaders on what will be required to support the modern Warfighter and a forum to discuss the best programmatic, technical and product support approaches.
You are invited to submit an abstract for your proposed presentation. Submitted abstracts should enhance the discussion of the various initiatives and technology supporting the modern Warfighter as well as programmatic and logistical approaches. The general rules for submitting abstracts are listed on the General Rules page.
Please make sure you read and understand the rules before submission.
